How to Be Consistent with Expectations and Consequences for Preschoolers

  Consistency is key when it comes to raising children. This is especially true when it comes to setting expectations and consequences. If you want your preschooler to learn to behave in a certain way, you need to be consistent with your expectations and consequences. Here are some tips for being consistent with expectations and consequences for preschoolers: Set clear expectations.  Let your child know what is expected of them in a clear and concise way. For example, you might say, "We don't hit. If you hit, you will have to take a time-out." Be consistent with your consequences.  If you say that a certain behavior will have a certain consequence, make sure that you follow through with the consequence every time.
